From a hum to a vowel
Try moving from a hum into an open vowel at an easy volume.
Follow the steps
Settle into a comfortable position. Try a brief “mmm” without pressing your lips together.
Let the lips part into a relaxed “ah” sound, keeping the whole “mmm–ah” short. Do not pull the jaw down or try to produce a large sound.
Return to ordinary breathing. Try the sequence once more if it feels comfortable. Keep your own pitch rather than matching the example.
Say the sentence below in your everyday voice. Choose one word from your own introduction and say it comfortably too.
Listen to the sound pattern
Synthesized sound examples show the sequence and pitch movement. They are not recordings of a teacher or a target voice. Use a comfortable pitch of your own; you do not need to match the sound.
The example could not play. You can read the sound pattern and follow the written steps.
Try it in speech
My main point is simple: we can begin with a short test.
Try your own opening sentence after a short rest. The useful result is comfortable speech, not a louder vowel.
Check your experience
