Script Shortener to Time

Shorten a spoken script for a target duration and pace. Compare the original with the result, edit it and rehearse before recording.

Use at least 3 words, up to 6,000 characters. Keep private or sensitive information out of your text.

Free generation allows five requests per browser in 30 minutes, shared across these script tools. Shared-network and service limits also apply. A temporary browser identifier is used to manage this allowance.

When you generate, your text is sent to our AI provider to create the result. Review facts and wording before using it. Privacy policy

Estimated speaking time. Pauses and delivery change the actual duration.

Choose a closing line

Choosing a line appends it to this script. Choosing another replaces only the previous suggestion. This uses one free generation request.

Your edited script becomes the original text in the next tool. Review the preview there before replacing an existing draft.

Your result will appear here. Your original text stays available for comparison.

A script that looks brief on the page can still run over time. Set a target duration and a speaking pace, then shorten the wording while keeping the main message. The original remains beside the result so you can decide whether the cuts are right for your video or presentation.

Choose a realistic duration and pace

Enter a target between fifteen seconds and three minutes, then choose a pace between eighty and two hundred twenty words per minute. If you do not know your pace, measure a sample read first. The word budget comes from your chosen duration and pace. It does not guarantee a finished recording of exactly that length because pauses, difficult names and emphasis all take time.

Cut repetition before cutting meaning

Paste the full spoken script, including any qualifications that matter. A useful shorter version removes repeated setup, combines overlapping explanations and brings the central point forward. It should preserve facts and uncertainty. For a garden announcement, keep the day of the event and the invitation to join, even if the background paragraph can be shorter. Review every change before using the result.

What happens when the target is too short

Some messages cannot fit a very short slot without losing something important. If the tool cannot return a completed result within the target word budget, it asks you to allow more time or remove an optional section. It does not cut off the end of a sentence to make the count look correct. If your original already fits, there is no need to add words just to fill the time.

Check the edited script with a real read

Compare the two versions, adjust the result and read it aloud. If your delivery includes a demonstration, a visual reveal or a deliberate pause, leave extra time for that moment. Rehearse in the browser teleprompter, or copy and download the text for your own workflow. The timing estimate updates as you edit, so you can see how another change affects the length.
