After recording, keep the original take until you confirm the edited export. Editing tools can differ by platform, but the supported workflow is the same: choose the recording, make one edit at a time, preview the result, then export or upload the final file.
Open the recording you want to edit
Go to Videos or Recordings and choose the take you want to work with. If the file exists only on the current device or browser, export or upload it before clearing storage, reinstalling the app, or switching devices.
Trim the beginning and end
Use Trim when the take has silence, setup movement, or a mistake at the start or end. Keep a small buffer around the spoken content so the exported video does not feel cut off. Save the result as a new edited file when the app offers that option.
Resize for social media
Use resize or crop presets when the same recording needs vertical, square, or landscape output. Check your face position and captions after changing aspect ratio. A crop that looks good in preview can still hide hands, slides, or lower-third text after export.
Rotate, mirror, and adjust speed
Rotate fixes orientation problems. Mirror can correct a camera preview or reflected setup, but do not mirror text or logos unless that is intentional. Speed changes are useful for repurposed clips, not for normal talking-head delivery unless the audio still sounds natural.
Add subtitles, logo, or background effects
On supported mobile workflows, Teleprompter Automatic can create subtitles and apply editing effects such as logo overlays, text overlays, blur, or background replacement. Review the full video after export because subtitle timing, background edges, and overlays depend on the source video.
Export and verify the file
Export a short edited sample first when working with high resolution, long recordings, subtitles, or background effects. If export fails, try a smaller resolution, a shorter trim, or one effect at a time. For basic save and share steps, see record and export videos.
Expected result
You should have an edited video that plays from start to finish, keeps audio, uses the intended aspect ratio, and is ready to share or upload to cloud storage. For cloud issues, use fix sync and cloud upload problems.
